Report on the Municipal Council Meeting of May 2, 2007
First, a Big Thank You to all who came to the meeting last night to lend their support to our efforts to urge the council to contribute financially to the recycling center and make a priority of the building of a sanitary landfill. Presidents Update April 28, 2007
Well this is one of those times where I need to call upon you to step up and be counted so to speak. First a brief background. On Wednesday April 25 in La Nacion there was a half page article about the “Basurero De Tilaran”, the town dump, and how bad it really is. This is nothing new, and though the municipality says it is trying to do something they have done next to nothing, includingnot really supporting the fledgling recycling center.

I want to thank all of you that attended our meeting on March 10th for
making it a very successful event. I like to believe that our voice and our
concerns are being heard and the evidence is in our growing membership.
Fuentes Verdes plans to continue to bring in people with expertise in
various areas such as Roberta and La Reserva . I trust you all enjoyed her
presentation her information and her spirit.

Notes on Water Pollution Meeting - February, 2005
This meeting was called by SENARA, the institution responsible for underground aquifers as well as irrigation in the Guanacaste lowlands. Present were the Mayor of Tilarán and representatives from the ministries of environment, agriculture, health, the Foundation for the Arenal Conservation Area, the Environmental Commission and Fuentes Verdes.
