Presidents Update

Well this is one of those times where I need to call upon you to step up and be counted so to speak. First a brief background. On Wednesday April 25 in La Nacion there was a half page article about the “Basurero De Tilaran”, the town dump, and how bad it really is. This is nothing new, and though the municipality says it is trying to do something they have done next to nothing, includingnot really supporting the fledgling recycling center.
You may have received a letter from Sandra about this. You may have seen a petition that is being passed around. At any rate on Wednesday May 2 at 5:00pm those petitions as well as a few speakers will be presented. A Show of Solidarity amongst the community is essential. I am hoping for a standing room only packed room and crowd outside of both estranjeros and Ticos. The situation is outrageous without a doubt.
The crisis is real and unless some public display of concern is demonstrated the municipality will continue to hide its head in the dirt.
So I am asking you to attend the municipal meeting and bring a friend. I don’t often ask for things from you but we need to ride this wave of public concern.
